Getting the right equipment is paramount. But it's naïve to think that money doesn't come into it. You don't have an unlimited budget. So it's important you get value for money. And that's another benefit of MES; its numerous financial advantages. A fixed annual cost leaves you free to plan ahead with total peace of mind. Plus a transparent process for contract variations means you won’t have to waste time worrying about hidden costs. We also take assets off your balance sheet, removing the liability for capital charges. And you'll generally be able to recover VAT on the whole service.

Before we select any new equipment, we will audit your existing asset base. This way, we can advise you whether or not you should transfer any assets to the MES, and how much this would cost. We will then ensure the smooth transition of service including any decanting, whilst minimising disruption.

The whole process starts with a review of your requirements. And unlike some, we're not in the business of only selling you someone else’s products. We have a unique insight into medical technology where our scientists have been developing and innovating our own proven medical technologies for decades. As a result, no-one understands MES and medical equipment like us. Having said that, you can rest assured that you’ll be involved in every stage of the selection process. We also recognise that choice is important and we offer a full vendor independent selection process (in fact, a significant proportion of the assets under our management are from suppliers other than Siemens where typically we manage over 200 vendors on each of our MES projects).

Experience is everything, and none of our competitors can match our broad range and volume of managed service experience. We currently manage over £80m worth of equipment through nine major UK contracts which will grow in value to over £1 Billion over the life of projects. We also successfully manage the largest MES contract in the country – at the Queens Hospital at Romford
We don't mean to show off. This experience means that we're better equipped to guide you through the transition process. It also means we're better at problem-solving and ensuring the whole process goes smoothly, from planning to implementation, and ongoing equipment replacement.
And one point of contact (us) means that you don't have to search for equipment asset or call centre numbers when you have a query. It's a very streamlined process, saving you time and hassle.
We use the Prince2 method of project management, a world-class standard that embodies many years of best practice.

No-one likes taking risks. Especially when it comes to vital medical equipment. And with Siemens MES, you don't have to gamble. We manage the key risks (both operational and financial) using our experience and depth of expertise.
It's a big responsibility but we’re large enough and experienced enough to handle it. We manage risk through rigorous maintenance schedules and rolling equipment replacement programmes that mean you're not tied to redundant technology. Our equipment uptime guarantees remove risk further still and are linked to the principle of "no service – no fee'.

You could get the best equipment in the world, but if your supplier wasn't any good at explaining how to operate it, you’d never get the full benefits. With the right training, your staff can use medical equipment to offer better treatment to more patients, more effectively. That's why we will provide all your clinical staff with continuous training, minimising equipment downtime and ensuring your patients get the best care possible.
Where appropriate, we also provide your engineering staff with all the training they need to act as first line support, so they'll be able to deal with minor issues themselves.

Your MES contract can last anything up to 30+ years. But you will still want to know how maintenance issues are handled on a day-to-day basis. With Siemens MES, you're in good hands. Your contract already covers maintenance and upgrades, so you're free to care for your patients. We even train your staff so that they can provide the first line of support. And we make full use of remote diagnostics to pre-empt failures and reduce equipment downtime. We provide you with regular, detailed management reports and you'll benefit from having your own dedicated point of contact, who'll save you time and hassle.

At Siemens, we understand that when you need to treat more patients, more quickly, reliability is key. That's why we can provide you with equipment uptime guarantees (98%), so you know you can rely on the technology, as well as regular reports detailing servicing issues and system availability.
